FiiO D3 (D03K) Coaxial/Optical to R/L DAC Audio Converter
The FiiO D3 (D03K) is a quick and easy way to convert digital audio output into high fidelity stereo analog sound. It is ideal for interfacing between modern digital audio/video devices with analog amplifiers or self-powered speakers. The D3 works with any playback source with an optical (Toslink) or coaxial digital audio output. Here are just a few of the devices supported:

- Digital TVs and HDTVs
- CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD players
- Apple TV, Google TV (Revue)
- Game consoles: PS3 (All), XBOX 360 (Slim)
- Satellite/Cable receivers and DVRs, TiVO
- AV Receivers and Integrated Amplifiers
- Digital media players and streamers

NOTE: The D3 does not support Dolby, DTS, or other surround sound signals. Therefore, it is important that the digital audio output of your device defaults to or can be set to PCM/LPCM output. Otherwise the sound will be static.

Extremely happy with this purchase.
True plug and play - it took just a few minutes to setup and make it work.
Sounds terrific, even when compared high end DACs.
Quick shout out to the folks at Micca Store: thanks for the efficient and excellent service! I will be a customer for a long time.

This unit beats itís competition hands down on several points:
1. Highest sampling rate; 192 KHz. All other comparable units leave off at 96KHz.

2. Features Performance Phase Lock Loop (PLL) technology. Not offered on any other comparable unit.

3. A/C or USB powered, another feature unique to this unit. I wanted to convert the optical out on my desktop Macintosh for use with a headphone amp without the need of yet another wall wart/power adapter (though one is included if you want it.) Done.

4. Also the only one of itís competition to list useful audio specifications like THD and signal to noise ratio. The best the other guys can do is list almost useless info like the weight of their unit.

5. This is also the only one to specify what chip is being used, a world class Wolfson. The other guys: ???

Long story short: Iíve used the D3 to listen to everything from Coleman Hawkins to Yoko Kanno to Pixies as well as my own stuff and now Iím addicted. I will never go back.
FiiO: I liked your stuff before, now I am a devoted fan.
